New in our range: DFS and DFI filters for organoleptic polishing and beverage clarification
We introduce next-generation industrial filter cartridges DFS and DFI for spirits, vodka and drinking water treatment — removing off-odours and correcting flavour characteristics. These solutions combine deep sorptive polishing with the catalytic effect of noble metals.
DFS™ filter cartridges — deep sorptive filtration and flavour correction
DFS™ cartridges are designed as a depth-type filtration module with a 5 mm sorbent housing, allowing the use of selected sorbents. A second-stage depth filter ensures no sorbent fines enter the treated product and guarantees beverage clarity.
Adsorbed compounds and operating principle:
- Silver-impregnated activated carbon (spirits): Filled with coconut-shell activated carbon granules impregnated with 0.1% silver particles. Silver acts as a catalyst, helping to adsorb impurities that cause flavour and aroma defects: organic acids, higher alcohols (fusel oils), methyl and ethyl amines, mercaptans, sulphur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), terpenes and terpene hydrates. Filtered vodka becomes clearer, smoother and more neutral in taste.
- Shungite media (drinking water): Uses natural carbon mineral shungite (30–98% amorphous carbon, silicates, C60/C70 fullerenes). Removes chlorine and organic impurities, provides antibacterial action, stabilises pH and gently mineralises water with calcium, magnesium and silicon.
Practical test results (vodka from premium-grade spirit):
In practical tests using a 10″ DFS cartridge with silver-impregnated activated carbon (0.1%), the following impurity removal and residual levels were achieved:

DFI filter cartridges — noble-metal coated catalytic system
DFI cartridges are pleated polypropylene filters (0.8–3 µm rating) with an internal perforated AISI 316L stainless steel cylinder galvanically coated with pure gold, silver or platinum.

- Catalytic effect: In contact with alcohol, noble metals (silver, platinum) act as catalysts, promoting absorption of undesirable organoleptic compounds.
- Brand value: Filtration through gold, silver or platinum elements delivers a distinctive premium positioning that can be declared on the final product label.
